The art of resilience

so many of us are exhausted and overwhelmed by schedules and commitments with no end in sight. Personal relationships are getting harder to pursue and creativity can feel like it’s hard to come by

how can we cope and thrive in these times?

let me share how I have learned to over the years:

The date was May 2011 and I had begun my 2 block walk to the church. It was both warm and cold threatening to storm. Trees were laden with the webs of freshly hatched spiders lending to the eerie feeling. I would arrive and lose my job as well as the passion that had placed me there in the first place

The first of many transitions I responded the way I had learned to, by writing. quotes of wisdom I composed while I walked through seasons both difficult and glorious

but the failure didn’t stop there, I started an arts magazine I folded soon after because of the lack of resources it brought in

I proceeded to follow that up with closing not one but TWO churches I was attempting to lead

I was becoming an expert in failure.

or………was my resilience growing?

Now I am entering a new life as a

Speaker, Artist and Writer at Businesses and schools. I have found the fit I was looking for all of this time.

but what to do with all of those lessons, stories and quotes and art I made that helped me along the deepest of valleys?
